Question: What time should I arrive for the ceremony?
Please arrive by 1:45pm, as the ceremony will begin promptly at 2pm. You may be asked to wait outside the church doors until after the bridal party has entered if you arrive after the start of the ceremony. Please note that highway 17 often has heavy traffic on the weekends, so please plan your travel time accordingly.
Question: Is there a dress code?
Yes! We kindly ask that our guests dress in semi-formal garden attire. Our ceremony will take place inside a Catholic Church during Mass, so we ask that guests be mindful of this setting by choosing respectful attire.
If you’d like to, feel free to incorporate our wedding colors into your outfit! Please avoid cream or white (white dress shirts are perfectly acceptable!). Your thoughtfulness in dressing for both the celebration and the ceremony is greatly appreciated!
Question: It’s my first time attending a Catholic Mass, what should I expect?
We are glad to share this beautiful ceremony with you! You can expect moments of standing, sitting, and kneeling, as well as responses from the congregation. If you're unfamiliar with these practices, don't worry, we will be providing a program with the order of the Mass for you to follow along.
An important note is that receiving Communion is reserved for practicing Catholics. It will be announced at the Mass as well, but during this time non-Catholics may remain kneeling or standing. If you wish, we encourage you to receive a blessing. You may join the congregation in line for Communion with your arms folded in an “X” over your chest. This will signal to the priest that you will not receive Communion, but wish to receive a blessing.
Question: Will there be parking?
Parking is on a first come first serve basis. Christ Child Catholic Church has limited parking, so carpooling is recommended.
Ample parking for the reception is available across the street from the Saratoga Foothill Club. Reception parking will be clearly marked for your convenience!
Question: Can I take my own photos?
We kindly ask that no photos be taken during the ceremony, as we want everyone to be fully present in the moment and respectful of the Mass. We have carefully selected a photographer who will capture all the special details for us!
However, you’re more than welcome to take photos during the cocktail hour and reception. We just ask that you be mindful of our photographer, especially during key moments like the first dance and cake cutting, so that they can capture those memories for us. Thank you so much for your understanding!
Question: Are my children able to attend? Can I bring a plus one?
Due to facility constraints, we please ask that little ones stay home unless otherwise specified on your invitation. Only those listed on the invitation are able to attend the wedding. Thank you for your kind understanding!
Question: What will the weather be like?
We will provide a more accurate estimate of the weather as we arrive closer to the date of the wedding. Stay tuned!
